Beyond the Chalets

Explore Shinanomachi & the Japanese Alps

Our chalets are the basecamp — this is what’s waiting outside the front door. Lake Nojiri, the surrounding mountains, and a small-town corner of Nagano that’s easy to fall for.

Fishing on Lake Nojiri

Carp fishing is a local favourite right on the lake, minutes from both chalets — bring your own gear or ask us for a local recommendation.

Paddleboarding & Lake Days

Calm, clear water for SUP, kayaking or a swim — one of the easiest summer mornings you’ll have.

Local Food

Farm stands, small local restaurants, and seasonal produce — ask us for our current favourites when you arrive.

Wildlife on the Doorstep

Shinanomachi is quiet enough that wildlife wanders through most nights — it’s not unusual to catch a fox crossing the road right outside the chalets after dark.

Ski & Backcountry

Myoko, Madarao and Nojiriko are all close by, with terrain for every level — and plenty of quieter backcountry lines for those who want to earn their turns.
